Daniel Bryan's 10 Greatest WWE Moments

3. Beating John Cena At SummerSlam 2013

2013's SummerSlam remains the night that Bryan's main event career was born. That birth came as a result of Triple H's betrayal and Randy Orton's subsequent Money in the Bank cash-in that left Daniel flat on his back. The move sparked the birth of The Authority and Bryan's long road to WrestleMania 30. While that ending was indeed very well done and immediately drew the ire of WWE fans that supported Daniel like never before, the fact is that none of it would have been possible had he not pinned John Cena. Cena was going out with an injury and needed to drop the belt to someone that the company could move forward with in a hot new storyline and Bryan was the man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GFYjNgL9EU Cena has often been thought of as the man that refuses to get out of the way, the man that will give just a few inches to his opponents but who will ultimately always win out in the end. However at SummerSlam, he did the honors to someone that he knew fans respected, someone that could carry the load and make the best of the opportunity. Daniel's win over John is the pivotal moment of his career as it gave fans the chance to see him on the main event stage and realize just how strong of a top level protagonist he could be.
