Did WWE Just Tease Finn Bálor's 'Demon' On SmackDown?

Some fans guessed Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend', but Bálor's alter ego is much more likely.

WWE may have teased a demonic return right at the end of this week's SmackDown.

Roman Reigns, who has been bossing Friday nights as the peerless Universal Champion, beat Finn Bálor in a main event title bout. Notably, The Usos had attacked Finn pre-match, but he was booked to fight back valiantly against the 'Tribal Chief'.

He didn't win though - Roman did, then something interesting happened as Reigns and Paul Heyman were leaving the arena.

The champ's music was briefly interrupted by some curious red lighting and a heartbeat sound. Some on social media speculated that this meant Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' was coming back to WWE, but it's much more likely that this is a tease for Bálor's 'Demon' guise.

Reigns still needs an opponent for the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view, after all, and there's more juice in a gimmicky battle with Finn's alter ego than another straight-up singles. It looks like that's the direction WWE are taking things.

This would be the 'Demon's' first outing since Super ShowDown 2019. There, in Saudi Arabia, he bested Andrade to retain his Intercontinental Title.

A match with Roman would feel significantly bigger.
