Though Eva Marie spent her final few weeks in WWE warring with Doudrop, the former Piper Niven has claimed she was "heartbroken" by news of her old onscreen ally's release.

Marie was one of 18 WWE wrestlers let go by the promotion in its latest round of cuts on 4 November. Interviewed by Metro's Alistair McGeorge, Doudrop claimed the former All Red Everything was like a sister to her, backing her to return to the promotion someday:-

"Honestly, I’m absolutely heartbroken because that woman is a big sister to me. Behind the scenes, she is the nicest person you will ever meet… Every single person, she’s got a funny story with them. I just love her so much. I hope it’s not the last we’ve seen of her in WWE, I think she’s amazing. When you see her in real life, you’re like… you’re amazing at being a heel. But time will tell – who knows what will happen in this crazy world?"

The Raw wrestler then explained how Eva helped ease her transition from NXT UK to the main roster:-

"I feel like everything that has been thrown at me, I’ve knocked out of the park – especially being with Eva. She obviously has been here before so for me it was a bit calming to have someone that had the experience, and who could guide me."

Eva had been with WWE since October 2020, when she was quietly brought back more than four years after her last televised appearance for the promotion. Vignettes for her 'Eva-Lution' comeback started airing the following May. When Eva was back on live TV in June, she was immediately paired with Doudrop, who was repackaged following her run as Piper Niven.

WWE teased tension between the two almost immediately. This came to a head in August and September, when the duo split up. They ended up wrestling two singles matches, both of which Doudrop won in under two minutes, before Marie took time off to film a movie.

It was reported over the weekend that WWE had no creative plans for Eva prior to her release.
