2005's WrestleMania saw the first ever Money In The Bank ladder match and, thanks to this awesome pioneer, the format is still going strong 15 years later.

Edge, Shelton Benjamin, Christian, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho and Kane, virtually none of whom were strangers to extremity, climbed, slammed and battered each other near to death in order to try and grab that contract briefcase. The spectacle was a sublime fit for wrestling's top pay per view of the year, when hardcore exploits were still very much flavour of the month. That fact that no wrestler involved was afraid to throw themselves into it really helped too.

Given his contribution to ladder matches as a whole, it was fairly fitting that Edge came out the victor on this one, but the match was ultimately a group effort, with every competitor chipping in to ensure that fans would still be talking about it 16 years later. Super credit must also be paid to Shelton Benjamin and Edge for the T-Bone suplex off the top of the ladder. Amazing stuff.
