Few could have predicted that when Mustafa Ali was withdrawn from the 2019 SmackDown Elimination Chamber match that it would bring about one of the best feel good moments in WrestleMania history.

Ali's replacement was Kofi Kingston - a veteran of the tag team and midcard scene for over a decade who had never gotten his shot at the top title. That all changed when fans got behind Kofi and pushed him all the way to a WWE Championship match with Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35. Kingston pinned Bryan to finally capture the gold to a huge response from the adoring audience.

What followed was a pretty solid 180 days as champion as Kingston defended the title against the likes of Samoa Joe, Dolph Ziggler, and Randy Orton. It was Kofi's final defence that would ultimately mar his entire reign, when he lost the title to Brock Lesnar in just six seconds.

Not only did Kingston lose the title in quick fashion, but he was shoved back down the card at lightning speed. Whilst his championship victory will go down in history, it's hard to talk about this great reign without leaving a sour taste.
