Every 1-Time WWE Champion Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Pedro Morales
He may not be as famous as some of his contemporaries, but Pedro Morales was a truly beloved figure in the wrestling business and his one and only WWWF Championship has a lot to do with that.
Morales became just the fourth man in history to win the belt when he defeated Ivan Koloff in 1971. He would hold the title for a staggering 1,027 days (the fifth longest single reign in history) and defeated a who's who of early 70s talent before having his reign ended at the hands of Stan Stasiak.
The Puerto Rican was the man chosen to succeed Bruno Sammartino as the face of the company and he passed that difficult test with flying colours. Not only was the quality of his matches exceptional, but he also gave Latino wrestlers a platform never seen before. There's a reason that Konnan name-dropped Morales in a speech in TNA thirty years after his title reign began.
Taking into account the length of time he was champion, his body work with the belt, and his lasting impact on inclusivity in wrestling, there really is no argument against him being the best one-time WWE Champion in history.
