Every 1-Time WWE Champion Ranked From Worst To Best

18. Bray Wyatt

Before WWE were mismanaging The Fiend as Universal Champion, they did a similarly poor job with the man under the mask as WWE Champion.

Before he got all spooky, Wyatt was on the run of his life as leader of the Randy Orton-infused Wyatt Family in 2016/17. This would culminate in Wyatt outlasting five other men in the 2017 Elimination Chamber match to win the WWE Championship for the first time.

Fans didn't expect much from this reign as news of an Orton vs Wyatt title match at WrestleMania 33 was widespread, but nobody could have predicted what would happen next. Wyatt and Orton's match was a slow, boring affair with the added "bonus" of Bray projecting pictures of insects onto the canvas in a move that was more "cringey" that "creepy".

As predicted, Wyatt dropped the title to Orton that night after just 49 days with it. For such a hot feud to come to such a lacklustre finish was deeply disappointing, but perhaps more upsetting was the fact that the company never trusted Wyatt with their most prestigious championship ever again.
