If you were to compile a list of New Japan's most improved performers in 2015, there's a good chance that Tama Tonga's name would be found near the top.

For years now the son of Haku has had to be content with taking the fall in multi-man matches and generally being on the bottom rung of Bullet Club's food chain, but the times they are-a-changin'.

2016 has seen Tama Tonga finally start to stretch his wings and show what he is capable of. His character has begun to develop and he's even had some time on the microphone, something that has been vital to his movement up the card.

Currently one half of the IWGP Tag Team Champions (with brother and fellow BC'er Tanga Roa), the sky is limit for Tama Tonga.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
