Every Edge Vs Randy Orton PPV Match Ranked From Worst To Best
7. Night Of Champions - 2010
Another Nexus-influenced WWE Championship match, Sheamus' second World Title reign that begun at the aforementioned Fatal 4-Way pap-per-view just a few months prior, was brought to an abrupt end in a 6-Pack Challenge also involving Randy Orton, Edge (surprise, surprise), John Cena, Wade Barrett and Chris Jericho.
The last name of that list was eliminated in just 85 seconds in what was written as basically his retirement from the WWE at the time.
It was a successful night for one of our two titular wrestlers, with Randy Orton winning his sixth WWE Title after all was said and done. The Viper eluded the invading Nexus to eliminate Wade Barrett from the match after the British Bull Hammer had done the same to Cena moments earlier.
Once the Nexus was out of the way, Orton made light work of Sheamus, picking up his third of a possible five eliminations to win the gold once again.
For Edge, the Ultimate Opportunist actually dominated much of the match, teaming up with Sheamus in an unlikely alliance to lay waste to the competition for the majority of the contest. He would last 15 of the 21 minutes before falling victim to a John Cena Attitude Adjustment.
While the match certainly picked up, firing off eliminations in the final three minutes, there was a lot of filler throughout much of the middle portions of the contest, dropping it down a few rungs on the ratings ladder.
