Another match marred by a strange finish, but unlike Orton's shoulder injury, this time it was the Nexus who derailed the match.

Edge and Orton continued their rivalry from the previous entry into the Fatal 4-Way pay-per-view, taking part in the titular match alongside defending WWE Champion John Cena, and Sheamus. At a bit over 15 minutes, the match was a solid outing in a multi-man format that is often hard to get right, with some near falls, teaming up, opportune plays and general cohesiveness.

One of the gripes of the opening 10 minutes though, was the concentration on the oft-trodden Orton vs Cena rivalry, making it feel like a match between those two and Edge and Sheamus just happened to be there.

Just as the match was building to an entertaining crescendo, the Nexus arrived, laying waste to anyone and anything in their path. They took out Cena and then Edge to the silence of no commentary, allowing Sheamus to sneak into the ring and pin Cena, before running out into the crowd to avoid being attacked next.

It was an odd way to kick off his second title reign and his immediate flee into the stands to escape did nothing to help solidify him as a legitimate main event player, something he struggled with in his first reign.

Orton and Edge did duke it out on a few occasions, but with so many other moving parts, this wasn't exactly a showcase for what was supposed to be an intense rivlary.
