The modern Intercontinental title design loses points, automatically, because it isn’t the classic Reggie Parks design that should not have gone away. Ever. 

That design was incredible. The belt never makes the man, but even the Mountie looked worthy with that stunning design wrapped around his waist. The shape was the concept of prestige, transmogrified. The stacked effect of the main plate represented the sense of progression the breakthrough IC champ would embark on as they rose up the card,

In every area - the size, design, the inherent beauty - the old IC title reflected its storyline purpose and its in-ring style. 

The new one, frankly, is a fairly ugly circle that you’d struggle, pitifully, to draw from memory.
