Every Match From WWE SummerSlam 2016 Ranked - From Worst To Best
5. World Title: Dean Ambrose (c) Vs. Dolph Ziggler
Result: Ambrose blasts Ziggler with the Dirty Deeds to retain (15:18).
Rating: Though the result was always going to be insanely predictable, this was a decent title match all the same even if it lacked the big fight feel you'd hope for, in part because it took place barely half-way through the show (which really tells you how inconsequential even WWE thinks it is).
Though the hype was low for this from the outset, had Ziggler come close but failed then it might've felt a little more important, yet ultimately it never graduated beyond a good title match and little else.
Given how badly Ziggler's been booked in his recent WWE tenure, this could've been a step on the road to reinventing him, but instead just made it seem like WWE have given up on elevating to the next level.
