Every NJPW G1 Climax Entrant Ranked From Least To Most Likely To Win
1. Tetsuya Naito
Tetsuya Naito is one of the hottest commodities in professional wrestling. Completely reinventing his squeaky-clean babyface character, Naito has created a persona that is universally entertaining. His popularity alone has been one of the most significant factors in New Japan's current 'golden age.'
Add to that his in-ring skills, and you have the perfect talisman to build a company around. Astoundingly, New Japan already has their talisman, Kazuchika Okada. While they have been kept apart since summer of last year, their rivalry will undoubtedly reignite; it's just a question of when.
Many had him pencilled in as last year's G1 winner, but NJPW pulled a masterstroke by pushing yet another megastar in Kenny Omega. This year it may be different.
Naito recently dropped the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, signalling to many that he is ready to return to the main event of the Tokyo Dome. Robbed of victory last year, Naito looks poised to claim his second G1 Climax win.
