5. Mike Dalton

What was he doing at the time?

The future Tyler Breeze was earmarked as a wrestler's wrestler from his earliest days within WWE, and as usual that tag was a double-edged sword. The gimmick got him over, but before that, he was Mike Dalton plugging away trying to build on a good run in Florida Championship Wrestling and turn it into a great one in NXT. Defeats against The Ascension and Kassius Ohno didn't look good on paper, but he was one of many that did jobs to get jobs during that time - if you saw wrestlers regularly it meant they were at least on the list to progress, rather than to just look at the lights.

What is he doing now?

Breeze is coming up on a thousand career matches, and will have likely passed that figure by the time you read this such is his consistency. The inevitable main roster call-up didn't go smoothly to begin with, but a team alongside Fandango drew cult acclaim until both men were released. Rewarded for his excellent fundamentals, Breeze was brought back as a Performance Center coach while still keeping his diary extremely busy with independent dates.
