Every Version Of WWE's Demon Finn Bálor: Ranked From Worst To Best

12. TakeOver: Rival

Takeover Rival’s appearance of the Demon proved just as awesome as the character’s debut at the previous NXT special. The devilish personification was channelled for only the second time for Finn's bout with former NXT Champion, Adrian Neville. The two squared off to determine the rightful contender to Kevin Owens' title.

While the dreadlocks, wrist tentacles, and arm sleeves seen prior went unchanged, the Demon body paint did feature some subtle evolutions. A slithering tongue was added to the open, fang-toothed mouth on Bálor's chest and face. Most prominently, a set of beastly red wings on Finn’s back were added — replacing the previous incarnation’s spiked spine.

The Demon had shown its first unique evolution, and while it wasn’t much varied from R Evolution's debut incarnation, it was a sign that Bálor's alter ego would be a constantly shifting thing. Replicating a singular look for each version of his warpaint -- and therefore a more marketable conformity -- wasn't the priority. Instead, it was clear that the Demon was personification all its own -- a true overtaking of Bálor's nature both inside and out.
