While fans just witnessed the fourth edition of TakeOver: Brooklyn, Finn Bálor took part in the first NXT main event at the Barclays Center. For his ladder match against Kevin Owens for the coveted NXT Championship, the Demon's bodily form saw the return of some earlier design staples.

As previously seen at the prior Beast in the East Network special, Bálor wore his asymmetrically arranged gear. The ever-present fanged open mouth and dreadlock headdress were again used, while the bloodied claw marks on his legs from Unstoppable also made a return. But as had become the norm by then, the painted back piece was the incarnation’s unique signature. A red-eyed, horned and fanged gargoyle covered Finn’s back — an homage of sorts to the traditional sculptures featured on some of New York City’s oldest high-rises and skyscrapers.

It was a stunning sight to be sure, but was one that fans had by then become accustomed to. While it was undoubtedly unique, it was mostly thanks to the amalgamation of previously seen elements of attire and warpaint. Still, the dastardly gargoyle on Bálor's back was enough to help the appearance standout on its own.
