Every WCW Heavyweight Champion: Where Are They Now?

11. Bret Hart

A legend he may be, but Bret Hart's time in WCW is very rarely looked back on fondly. Despite some shoddy storylines, he actually still managed to have seven title reigns in just two years of wrestling, a pair of those with the WCW World Championship around his waist.

Hart would sadly be forced into retirement due to post-concussion syndrome after being infamously kicked in the head by Goldberg. Compounding his troubles, he also suffered a stroke in 2002, completely ruling out any thoughts of a proper in-ring return.

The word "proper" is the key there, because he did eventually make a return in unlikely, and very odd, circumstances when he wrestled Vince McMahon at WrestleMania XXVI, a few years after being inducted into the Hall Of Fame for the first time. He's made sporadic appearances since then on television and was inducted into the Hall Of Fame again, getting rushed in the ring by an overzealous fan during his acceptance speech.

Hart's most notable moment in recent times came at AEW's first PPV, Double or Nothing, unveiling the promotion's brand new World Championship belt. Whether we saw more of Hart in the company remains to be seen, but it was a huge moment for fans around the world.
