Okay, okay, okay. So the psychology of this match is absolutely non-existent from start to finish. For 14 minutes, these six men put on spot after spot after spot that tells little in the way of story, shows little in the way of selling and doesn't really make sense at any time. The match is a triple threat tag team match with the winner being the #1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Championship, held at the time by Chavo Guerrero, and Shannon Moore and Shane Helms eventually co-win the match, because friendship.

Yeah, it makes zero sense. The beauty of this is that it really didn't need to by this point. This was the opening match of the final Starrcade ever, as WCW was all but dead by the end of 2000. With no need to tell a story these six men were allowed to go out and just put on a show, and by god they did just that.

Bodies fly everywhere, ladders get thrown, jumped off, catapulted and more, and Leia Meow stands on the outside looking terrifyingly sexy. If you're an old school wrestling fan, this isn't for you. If you're going back through old World Championship Wrestling matches in search of 14 minutes of pure fun, this is the best you will find.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
