EVERY Wrestling Move Banned By WWE (And Why)

8. Styles Clash

For a brief stretch in WWE, AJ Styles was left with only the Calf Crusher as his finisher after the Styles Clash was banned. Styles invented the move and made it a household name during his years with TNA Wrestling. However, after hearing that it injured several wrestlers and nearly injured James Ellsworth in WWE, Vince McMahon put it on the banned list.

The argument can be made that the Styles Clash falls into the same category as the piledriver because it does leave an opponent's head and neck in a prone position. The move eventually made its way back into Style’s bag of tricks after a powerful ally lobbied for its return.

Chris Jericho was able to convince McMahon to allow Styles to start using his signature move again and just in time for WrestleMania. Styles re-debuted the Styles Clash against Jericho during their classic WrestleMania 32 encounter.
