EVERY Wrestling Move Banned By WWE (And Why)

14. Curb Stomp

Seth Rollins stopped using the Curb Stomp just after his WWE Championship win at WrestleMania 31. According to Rollins, Vince McMahon removed it from his arsenal because he didn’t feel that the move should be associated with the WWE’s top guy. It also probably had to do with the origin of the term itself.

Outside of wrestling, a 'Curb Stomp' describes a vicious assault in which the victim’s face is placed against a stone sidewalk curb and kicked from behind. There have been several high profile assaults committed using it since the early 2000s. Some of the assaults were hate crimes.

Rollins resumed using the Curb Stomp in 2018 in a match against Finn Bálor. However, WWE dropped the “Curb” and only referred to it as the Stomp. McMahon probably figured enough time had passed to reinstate Rollins’ most popular maneuver while distancing it from the troubling term.
