EVERY Wrestling Move Banned By WWE (And Why)

13. Punt Kick

WWE

Randy Orton used the Punt Kick as a part of his “Legend Killer” gimmick. Orton viciously kicked fallen opponents in the head after getting a running start. The list of Punt Kick victims reads like a who’s who of wrestling superstars and has included Shawn Michaels and even Vince McMahon. However, WWE banned the move in 2012.

During a recent interview with talkSPORT, Orton said the move was shelved because he had a hard time making it look realistic but keeping it safe for those receiving it. He said there were a growing number of WWE Superstars who refused to take the Punt Kick.

Orton recently revived his “Legend Killer” persona and the Punt Kick along with it. He convinced WWE that he could do it safely, and it paid off. Orton used it on Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, and Christian to further a great WrestleMania storyline with Edge.
