EVERY Wrestling Move Banned By WWE (And Why)

11. Diving Headbutt

The Diving Headbutt from the top rope was a popular move in pro wrestling for many years. The Legendary Harley Race invented it, and big stars such as Dynamite Kid, Chris Benoit, and Daniel Bryan have used it over the years. In the 1980s, the diving headbutt was commonly used by wrestlers up and down the card. Jinsei Shinzaki aka Hakushi, and The Barbarian were notable mid-card guys that used it.

Later, the Diving Headbutt was banned by WWE after being linked to CTE, the tragic Benoit murders, and the health downfall of Dynamite Kid. It would be a few years before WWE allowed limited use of the once-popular maneuver.

Daniel Bryan and, more recently Lars Sullivan, have been allowed to use the Diving Headbutt. WWE might feel that the Benoit and Dynamite Kid issues are far enough behind them to allow some use of the controversial move.
