A year before his boring bout against The Miz, John Cena found himself defending the WWE Championship under 'I Quit' rules against a far more intimidating and demanding opponent. 'The Animal' Batista stood in front of the leader of the Cenation this time, and it was going to take more than an STF to make Dave audibly quit.

Over The Limit 2010 was a pretty forgettable pay-per-view, but the main event proved once again that Cena and Batista had perfected working the WWE style of main event. You weren't going to get incredible sequences and strong style battles between them, but you were going to get a whole lot of story and two big men beating the tar out of each other.

Which is exactly what happened here. If this match had taken place in 2005 there would have been buckets and buckets of blood, as a number of violent spots were ran through one after the other. Batista quit when Cena threatened to give him the AA off of a car on the stage, which Cena proceeded to do anyway.

A better match than people give it credit for being, with no duct tape in sight.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
