Every WWE Backlash Main Event Ranked Worst To Best
2. Edge Vs. John Cena V.s Randy Orton Vs. Shawn Michaels. (2007)
Particularly for a main event, a Fatal Four Way can be a tough pitch at the best of times. A good start would be to find reasons why matches like this were even invented in the first place. Cue Backlash 2007. The main event between Cena, Orton, Edge and Michaels is an exercise in how the four-man format can sometimes go very very right.
Here we had a group of polar opposites who were not only able to hold their own corner, but to also bring out the best in each other. There was no dominant figure here, just a gathering of athletes striving to continuously one-up each other. Yet it was done with so much humility, that all four men were clearly wavering personal interest in favour of putting on the best show possible for the crowd...
and that they did. High risks, hard knocks and double crosses, all came thick and fast. The chemistry, and the timing were top notch, nobody lagged and everybody had their moment to shine. Irrespective of result, it was damn near perfect, and what pro wrestling is truly about on any given day.
