11. The Rock Vs. Goldberg (2003)

No titles for grabs in this one, just pure showboating... Sort of.

On paper, and especially back in 2003, the idea of a Rock vs. Goldberg main event was something of a dream match. WWE provided, with one glaring stipulation. It was done during the time when The Rock was full swing with his Hollywood Heel persona, and so a clash of champions this was not.

Make no mistake, Rock's cowardly flexes when faced with Bill are p**s funny, and so is everything else he does in the match. He's an entertainer after all. However, when all is said and done, the main event of a post WrestleMania PPV is just not the time and place for it. While the interaction between the two competitors was great, the wrestling itself was clunky, bereft of progression and all too swift. Ultimately, it amounted to nothing more than a game of 'See how long it takes for Goldberg to catch this guy and squash him.'

Definitely not what the fans had been waiting years to see.
