Every WWE Backlash PPV Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Backlash 2001
What Backlash 2001 lacked in sheer quality it made up for in variety. One of the most well-balanced pay per views in the event's history saw Austin, Triple H, Kane and Undertaker do battle in a mammoth main event with a number of titles on the line.
That bout certainly divides opinion, many viewing it as drawn-out and lacking in quality, while others argue in favour of its pure Attitude Era chaos.
In the undercard, Angle and Benoit took one another to the limit in an inventive Ultimate Submission match, while Rhyno and Raven revelled in hardcore anarchy.
The event also saw one of Shane McMahon's less-remembered bumps, a leap of faith from the side of the Backlash structure onto a prone Big Show.
It's certainly one of the wilder Backlash PPVs ever, but is thankfully anchored by that Benoit/Angle clash in the middle of the show. Without that, it could well have spiralled out of control.
