Every WWE Backlash PPV Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Backlash: In Your House (1999)
Speaking of anarchic Backlash pay per views, the inaugural 1999 event was perhaps the wildest of all.
As with much of WWE's output in that year, it somehow managed to keep itself together enough to deliver a compelling show - but always seemed to be on the brink of disaster. The main event (Austin vs. Rock under a No Holds Barred stipulation) was undiluted Attitude Era madness at its best, and knocked spots off their more famous WrestleMania XV encounter.
A hefty undercard saw Undertaker defeat Ken Shamrock in a very unique encounter (give it a chance), while Al Snow and Hardcore Holly went 15 minutes in a surprisingly entertaining Hardcore Championship clash.
Of course, the best-remembered moment of the show came after the final bell, as Undertaker hilariously abducted Stephanie McMahon by posing as her limousine driver.
Car crash wrestling? Yes. Entertaining? Absolutely.
