Randy Orton wasted no time rising through the WWE ranks when he began taking out legends. Making a name for himself at the expense of icons, the Legend Killer soon crossed paths with The Undertaker. Their feud dominated SmackDown throughout most of 2005 and even saw Randy’s legendary father, Bob Orton, get involved. This led to a Handicap Casket Match at that year’s No Mercy PPV.

Given that Bob Orton wasn’t exactly in ring shape, most of the action took place between Randy and The Undertaker. But the legend offered a few memorable moments throughout the bout, most importantly blasting The Phenom with a fire extinguisher. Meanwhile, ‘Taker and Orton once again highlighted why their feud was so successful as they worked incredibly well together in the ring. Furthermore, the Handicap stipulation helped this bout stand out from previous Casket Matches because, for the first time The Undertaker did not have the advantage – something that eventually caught up with him.

With chair shots, fire extinguishers, arena-wide action and a battle inside the casket, this one proved to be quite an extreme Casket Match. But given the intensity of this feud, it was only fitting. Although it ended with the Ortons recycling Kane’s plan of setting fire to the casket with Undertaker inside, this fiery finale was the perfect way to set up Randy and ‘Taker’s final confrontation later that year.
