One of the best matches in Monday Night Raw history and a frustrating false dawn for the brand new belt, the European Championship scrap between brothers-in-law Davey Boy Smith and Owen Hart was lightyears ahead of the product at the time and in keeping with WWE's in-ring form during it's commercial nadir. The only way was down, but few after this would have predicted how steep the drop would be.
