A short-but-clunky adventure for the belt saw the "Undisputed" title first held by Triple H eventually disputed again when Brock Lesnar took it to SmackDown in 2002.
By mid-2004, he'd disappeared completely, but the rebranded WWE Championship underwent quite the transformation with a man who'd experienced just the same to get into the fourtunate spot. He never held it proudly, but his desperate grip was strong enough to sell several pay-per-views on the promise of a comeuppance that took months to arrive.
