Every WWE Clash Of Champions Match Ranked From Worst To Best
21. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode Vs. Seth Rollins & Braun Strowman (2019)
The lack of chemistry that Rollins and Strowman had as opponents sadly carried over as tag team partners
Rollins and Strowman weren’t over as faces here, with Rollins already regaining the negative momentum from his earlier title reign in 2019. Ziggler hasn’t been the same since turning heel and didn’t put in any major effort here, and Roode’s work since coming to the main roster has been universally boring. Strowman could have interested with his size and capacity for rage, but didn’t do any of the things that made him interesting as a performer, just putting on overdramatic facial expressions whenever he was mad at Rollins.
None of the four men coalesced at all over the course of the match, with the pacing being off and the basic narrative not succeeding to win over the crowd. The tag spots lacked heat or urgency, and the finish completely failed to put over the new tag team champions or increase anticipation for Rollins' and Strowman’s main event.
It wasn’t broken by botches or major booking decisions, but by none of the physical or narrative elements connecting in the slightest.
