Every WWE Clash Of Champions Match Ranked From Worst To Best
3. Chris Jericho Vs. Sami Zayn (2016)
This is just a fantastic wrestling match, two veterans who have unique chemistry working a fun 15 minute singles match that puts over its younger babyface's perseverance and the older heel's cruelty and quick thinking.
It can be easy to forget just how effective a babyface Sami Zayn is after years of being a heel, but looking at his facial expressions during the Walls of Jericho creates this immense sympathy and desire for him to overcome the odds.
The two had really wonderful in ring chemistry, reminiscent of Jericho’s battles with Rey Mysterio and other inherently sympathetic workrate masters. Zayn and Jericho had the skill together to incorporate slight botches into the narrative, making little slips benefit the overall match as Jericho capitalised on every opportunity he could find.
The match built excellently and got fans invested completely, even without major storylines leading into it. It was a perfect example of two expert workers creating greatness just from being in the ring together, and they deserved significantly more opportunities to work with each other.
This was a fantastic match that deserves more recognition, especially since Jericho’s one of the top stars in the world again.
