Every WWE Gimmick Match And The Wrestlers That Defined Them

11. Falls Count Anywhere Match - Mick Foley

The Undertaker HIAC
WWE Network

A stipulation woven into all sorts of bastardisations, the man best associated with it remains Mick Foley, who was essentially the frontiersman of the WWF throughout the 1990s: he bravely discovered narrative paths beyond the confines of the squared circle, creating a new landscape for his successors to thrive on.

The most legendary encounter remains also his eye-catching MSG war with Triple H in 1997, in which the WWF at once caught up to and enhanced the ECW plunder formula.

It is now the preserve of Braun Strowman, whose fun, destructive tendencies are a perfect fit for the creative backstage chaos. Less visceral but excellently contrived, his modern update on the trope has highlighted RAW in its three-hour dirge era - a feat almost as impressive as the stunts he pulls off in the process.
