Every WWE NXT TakeOver: Dallas Wrestler - Where Are They Now?
3. Bobby Roode
Surprise!
Right before the Dallas main event, the camera cut to a man wearing a suit sitting in the front row. This was Bobby Roode, former TNA Champion and one of the hottest free agents in the world at the time. His intro began the tradition of NXT showing off their most recent signings in the crowd at big shows.
Roode would officially debut later in the year, gain one of the greatest theme songs in wrestling history, and win the NXT Championship at the start of 2017. Once again, though, we have a case of a star burning bright before fading away on the main roster.
Roode made an inauspicious SmackDown debut shortly after SummerSlam 2017, firmly entrenching himself in the middle of the card. One United States and a couple of tag title runs later, and the memories of his NXT run were all but forgotten.
Following neck fusion surgery in 2022, he joined fellow list-mate Jason Jordan as a producer. Later, Bobby revealed that (whilst he was medically cleared to compete) he felt his in-ring days were behind him.
His run at the top might have been short, but it was GLORIOUSSSSS.
