13. Clash Of Champions

Could you remember a single match from ‘Clash of Champions’, without first having to Google ‘Clash of Champions’? Did you even remember that it was called ‘Clash of Champions’, rather than ‘Night of Champions’? The talent certainly couldn’t.

Whereas Smackdown came out of the single brand PPV gates swinging, RAW came out flailing. This wasn’t an especially bad show, it was just completely unmemorable, and featured little in the way of entertaining bouts or dramatic storytelling.

Neither the US nor the Universal title match set the world on fire, nor did the ‘Three Horsewoman’ Triple Threat between Bayley, Sasha and Charlotte. They were fine, but they paled in comparison to the match of the night: the best of 7 finale between Sheamus and Cesaro, and even that ended in a disappointing no contest.
