12. WrestleMania 32

Every WrestleMania brings with it a certain sense of grandiosity. While Summerslam can’t get by on name value alone, WrestleMania can be poor, and still generate some fantastic water cooler moments. Such was the case with WM32 – a major step down from the previous year, but an oddly memorable show at least.

The New Day’s Booty O’s entrance has become iconic, even though the following match was as dry as a bone. The Women’s Triple Threat stole the show, as did the announcement that Sasha, Charlotte and Becky would be competing for the gorgeous new Women’s Title (an odd contrast to the Universal Championship reveal several months later), and Zack Ryder’s surprise Intercontinental Title win in a brutal 7-man ladder match elicited a great pop from the (alleged) 100,000 fans in attendance.

Still, the event was plagued by legends cameos, all of which happened at the expense of new talent. The most heinous of these was The Rock’s appearance, which saw him set his own name on fire (talk about symbolism), before pinning Eric Rowan in 6 seconds. All because of a stupid record.

Other lowlights include a total slog of a main event in which nobody knew who to cheer, an utter mess of a 10 woman tag match, the purpose of which was to put over Total Divas, as well as a terribly phoned-in No Holds Barred match between Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose, which almost single-handedly drained Ambrose of his considerable momentum and fan support.
