Every WWE Raw Intro Ranked – From Worst To Best
2. 1997
Our second one-off entry to feature on this list, and again
another that simply couldn’t be ignored.
Though Marilyn Manson’s “Beautiful People” would later become the hallmark of SmackDown during the Ruthless Aggression era, it was in fact used on Raw as early as 1997.
If you cast your minds back to the 1998 intro with the abandoned warehouse and the cacophony of explosions, this was pretty much the same premise but with the crucial difference of having the music changed.
Perhaps this one benefits from the SmackDown connotations that have since been forged, but even so it just seems to fit with the footage so well. Plus, the segment closes out with that iconic image of a blood-stained Austin reaching for the ropes in his WrestleMania 13 match with Bret Hart.
Unfortunately, this intro only stuck around for a few weeks, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was one of the most emphatic in the history of Monday Night Raw.
