Every WWE Raw Opening Theme Song Ranked From Worst To Best
6. 'Raw' By Jim Johnston
Used: 1993 - 1995, 1995 - 1997
Jim Johnston's second composition for Raw was more boisterous than its predecessor but it worked, representing the shift in WWE's programming as it started to become more larger-than-life. Moreover, it stood the test of time and oversaw the company's transition into its edgier era - even though it wasn't initially supposed to.
The revamp in response to WCW's cutting edge programming saw the-powers-that-be retire this piece and craft a new chaotic opening package, which featured the likes of The Undertaker, Bret Hart and Yokozuna battering each other in an outdoor ring as law enforcement surrounded them, but they stuck it with 'I Like It Raw'. That theme didn't work and they ultimately went back to this one which, ironically, lent itself to the new opening beautifully.
