79. The IIconics

Then: This writer will always maintain that WWE dropped the ball on Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. Together, they were one of the finest double acts in modern wrestling history. Hilarious and with chemistry for days, the duo were only going to improve in-ring the more reps they were given too. Then, bizarrely, creative decided it'd be best to split the team and put a halt to their run as The IIconics.

Both were gone from the company by April 2021.

Now: Fair play to Kay and Royce. They've rebranded as The IInspiration and found success in TNA and (latterly) AEW. The pair only signed with All Elite in February 2026. They lost their debut match in quick fashion to Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter on the 4 March Dynamite, but the real-life pals have a splash of The Miz or Chelsea Green about them.

In other words, they can eat humiliating losses on TV and still come back fighting. The IInspiration are always going to get some sort of response out of live crowds - they're really good at provoking one, and their dual energy is welcome on shows regardless of how they fare during matches.

That's a powerful position to be in.

It's genuinely lovely to see how far these friends have come. WWE tried to drive a wedge between them for no reason in particular, but the strength of their friendship sustained and now they can have some fun in AEW. Surely, they're far too entertaining for 2 major companies to fumble. Surely.
