Every WWE Royal Rumble 'Final Four' - From Worst To Best

8. 1993 - Rick Martel, Bob Backlund, Randy Savage & Yokozuna

This quartet is an interesting mixture of established and ascendant talent. All four men would end their careers with World titles to their names, but they were all at very different places at this point in time. Backlund was dragging his pale Hank Hill body through a strangely-timed comeback. Randy Savage was about to become a full-time commentator. Rick Martel was an AWA champion, recently repackaged as Tyler Breeze€™s dad. And Yoko was 500 pounds of culturally-appropriative Samoan barreling toward the main event at manslaughter speeds. The end of the match is one of my very favorite Randy Savage memories: knocking Yoko off his feet, hitting an Atomic Elbow, getting confused and going for a pin, then immediately being benched over the top rope. Randy Savage€™s brain glitching and making him wrestle unintentionally is my absolute favorite pro graps trope.
