4. CM Punk Vs. John Cena Vs. Big Show - 2012

Another SummerSlam triple threat match that is dominated by Big Show, although this one fares slightly better due to the fact it involves CM Punk and John Cena as opposed to The Miz and Ryback (the Big Guy still does a better running knee, however). Even so, not even elite performers like Cena and Punk could salvage a long Show domination segment.

The ending of this match drags it down somewhat too, as Show taps out whilst simultaneously in the Koji Clutch (Punk) and the STF (Cena). The spot looked clunky and frankly rather ridiculous, but was obviously done as a means to keep Cena looking as strong as possible.

RAW GM AJ Lee restarts the match and it ends for good when Cena hits the AA on Show only to get hurled out of the ring by Punk. The champ retained, and his record-breaking reign continued.

Despite the gripes, there is a lot to like in this match. Whilst no-one in their right mind needs to see John Cena and Big Show go at it again, Punk's interactions with Show were actually a lot of fun. It was further proof that Punk was exactly what he said he was.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
