Every WWE Survivor Series Ranked - From Worst To Best
8. 2005
A difficult show in many ways, the 2005 Survivor Series took place just two weeks after the death of Eddie Guerrero. Eddie was originally booked to be in the SmackDown vs. RAW elimination match main event, and his replacement Randy Orton would go on to become the sole survivor in that contest.
John Cena and Kurt Angle rekindled their rivalry with a match for the WWE Championship, won by Cena as the company continued to throw all their weight behind their new champion superstar. Booker T defeated Chris Benoit in the first match in the Best-of-Seven series for the US Championship, a series that most certainly didn't end with them in a comedy tag team together.
Triple H defeated Ric Flair in a bloody Last Man Standing match, and Edge formally announced the arrival of his talk show, The Cutting Edge.
7. 1989
A nostalgia ranking if ever there was one, the 1989 Survivor Series featured some truly glorious teams and team names. The Ultimate Warriors (Warrior, The Rockers, Jim Neidhart) defeated The Heenan Family (Andre the Giant, Bobby Heenan, Haku and Arn Anderson) in the main event, something of a test run for Warrior ahead of his mega push the following year.
The Hulkamaniacs were the real dream team however, Hulk Hogan teaming up with Jake Roberts and Demolition to vanquish The Million Dollar Team (Ted DiBiase, Zeus and The Powers of Pain). You also had the 4x4s, Roddy's Rowdies, The Rude Brood, and so many more. WWE really needs to go back to naming their Survivor Series teams.
From top to bottom this was a stacked card full of legends and heroes. It is difficult to criticise.
