Often regarded as one of the worst matches in WrestleMania history, Goldberg vs. Lesnar at the 20th show destroyed both men's credibility for nearly a decade when it was revealed both men were leaving the company following the show, and were met with howls of derision from the New York faithful. The only cheer the men received was when Steve Austin, the guest referee planted both men with a stunner and sent them on their way.

Then in 2016, Goldberg returned to the company to reignite his feud with Brock, leading him to destroy the Beast in 90 seconds and Survivor Series and eliminate him from the Royal Rumble. Later, with the Universal Championship around his waist, Big Bill was scheduled to defend it against Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.

Horrible images of Mania XX flashed through the eyes of fans, with both men stalling for minutes on end and exchanging a handful of finishers to get the match over with. Yet somehow, the two men managed to roll back the years and gave us a fast paced, hard hitting and competitive match up comparable to Goldberg in his prime and Lesnar at his most monsterous.

Considering no-one had any expectations for the feud as a whole, both men deserve all the credit in the world for making this work the second time around.
