4. Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman’s WWE career has been a lot of “what ifs” and wasted potential (on WWE’s part), along with a fair amount of schadenfreude.

Strowman has garnered the ire of fans online with some of his tirades, including when he mocked independent wrestlers during the height of the pandemic while they were unemployed and struggling. A year later, Braun found himself released from the financial security of WWE and bouncing around independent shows.

He re-signed with WWE in September 2022 and entered a feud with Omos, which he won. But he again pissed off fans with a derisive tweet about high-flyers, calling them “floppy floppers.” A couple weeks later, high-flyer Ricochet defeated Strowman in what had to be a receipt.

Shortly after though, Braun and Ricochet formed a tag team that caught fire and became one of the more entertaining parts of SmackDown. Drafted to Raw this spring, it looked like they were going to be a huge part of Monday nights before Strowman went down with a serious neck injury, requiring surgery.

Just given his past success and track record, it’s safe to say that if he can avoid some of the abysmal booking he faced in 2020-21, Braun will resume his upward trend and be a solid addition to the roster when he returns from injury. But being out of action knocks him down a few pegs.
