EVERYTHING Vince McMahon Gave Up On In 2020 (So Far)

12. Shayna Bazsler

Paul Heyman Vince McMahon
WWE/XFL

In early March a rumour circulated that Shayna had already fallen out of Vince's favour, and those rumours keep resurfacing since. He was said to be negative and uncertain on her, which is genuinely odd. Baszler brings to the women's division everything that Brock Lesnar brings to the men's in terms of legitimacy. The only thing she doesn't bring is the same sort of name recognition that makes Brock worth the big bucks.

The problem is that, for all her legitimacy, Baszler's matches tend to be pretty pedestrian affairs with her cast as such a monster that it takes every ounce of energy from her opponents to even stand with. And, again with the Brock comparisons, that doesn't often translate well into sports entertainment. On NXT, the former Women's Champion was amongst technical stars, but the main roster is about entertainment and her casting as a cannibal didn't do anyone any favours.

While she was bound to win at Elimination Chamber, there was no way Vince was putting the belt on her at WrestleMania. Sure enough, Shayna fell to Becky before finally disappearing from screens after failing to secure the case at Money In The Bank.
