EVERYTHING Vince McMahon Gave Up On In 2020 (So Far)

13. The Fiend's Credibility

Paul Heyman Vince McMahon

Bray Wyatt has one of the most interesting characters in WWE right now. A child trapped in his own mind yet still echoing the darkness that his previous character held. His Fiend alter-ego is an unstoppable horror movie monster that seems to exclusively target those who hurt Bray, and the two could have been a mainstay of WWE programming for years without needing a title win.

But then the secret to defeating The Fiend was discovered. It wasn't anything to do with the red light as some had theorized. The way to beat him was to bring in a 53-year-old part-timer who simply hit the monster with a couple of spears and something that was allegedly a Jackhammer.

Yes, giving Goldberg the belt allows him to absorb the hate of taking it from Wyatt rather than risk getting Roman booed to hell for years again when he wins at WrestleMania. Yes, this opens the door for The Fiend to go after John Cena, who has arguably done more damage to Bray than anyone else. But to have the character beaten so easily?

Dolph Ziggler lasted longer against Goldberg than the unstoppable Fiend did. Just think about that, because Vince surely didn't.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
