The NWA’s 70th Anniversary event will be the promotion’s first major pay-per-view since their time with TNA Wrestling. In fact, it’s the first significant NWA show being held at all since the 60th Anniversary a decade ago, and that relatively small celebration will pale in comparison to Sunday's event.

In a nod to their early days as part of TNA, Corgan has decided to bring the NWA back to a major market for the promotion. The 70th Anniversary broadcast on Fite TV will emanate from the famed Asylum Fairgrounds Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. It was at the Asylum where NWA-TNA first got their start and built an audience with weekly pay-per-view shows before TNA eventually ditched the Alliance and subsequently migrated further south to Orlando’s Universal Studios.

Interestingly, at last week's Bound For Glory event, IMPACT Wrestling announced that they will also return to the Asylum in January for their next pay-per-view entitled "Homecoming." While the Asylum has largely been ignored by wrestling promotions since TNA's departure, they will now see two major events starting with Sunday's NWA 70.
