Ex-WWE Star Says Goldberg Squashing Bray Wyatt Crushed His Spirit
Watching Goldberg beat Bray Wyatt in three minutes was the final straw for this former WWE man.
EC3 was left despondent and wondering what the point of even trying was after watching Bill Goldberg squash Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' in three minutes at WWE's Super ShowDown 2020 event in Saudi Arabia.
The former WWE, Impact and ROH wrestler couldn't believe his eyes when Goldberg marched back into view and destroyed something Wyatt had "put his heart and soul into". To EC3, that one match represented the death of hope that he'd ever be able to do anything special in the company.
It was the final straw for him.
EC3 told Chris Van Vliet's 'Insight' show how he was friends with Bray behind the scenes, and he witnessed first hand how Wyatt used his "super creative mind" to craft one of the best characters of his generation. Then, in just 180 seconds, WWE ripped all of that effort apart by feeding him to Goldberg in a match that p*ssed countless fans right off.
Rather depressingly, EC3 asked: "If that didn't work, then what will?". He knew he'd never be able to make WWE's writers care about his character if they'd sacrifice someone like Wyatt so willingly.
