10. Gail Kim Eliminates Herself

Gail Kim Battle Royal WWE
WWE Network

The above screenshot is lifted from the 1 August 2011 episode of Raw. It shows Natalya staring down another opponent in the women's Battle Royal, and a smiling Gail Kim standing behind her. Unlike Nattie (and everyone else in the match), Kim knew this would be her last foray into a WWE ring.

She'd made peace with that.

Mere seconds into the bout, Gail approached Alicia Fox, tussled for a bit then rolled out of the ring and eliminated herself. Looking at her facial expression before the bell hints that Kim knew her time was up in the company; Gail did say afterwards that WWE told her to get eliminated in the first minute. That might be true, but they surely didn't ask her to go without a fight.

She was sick of the promotion, and this was a good way to ensure a way out. Rebelling on national television was one way to push things through. A few days later, Kim announced on Twitter to fans that she was leaving WWE. No sh*t. Her smile on Raw was one of sheer serenity.
