What Happens if Cena Wins?
This is the conventional thinking at the moment. Monster heel that Cena overcomes to retain the WWE Championship. Tirple H has stated on record that he wants longer title reigns in order to give more legitimacy back to the championships and so it would be no shock if John Cena was to hold the title for at least 3 or 4 months. The trouble is if Cena wins clean and overcomes the odds yet again, where does that leave Ryback and his new heel turn? His momentum may have been cut off before it even had a chance to gather steam. Furthermore, because of the generic nature of the feud, will anyone want to see a repeat of it at Payback if Ryback loses?Because if Ryback does not win the title at Extreme Rules, there has to be less chance for him to win it at Payback. Or will he be tossed into another, less meaningful feud with a drifting babyface? Ryback may be in the title match, but he has lost 6 PPVs in a row coming to this point. Some stars, like Jericho, are good enough on the mic and in the ring to do that and still look strong. Ryback is not at that point where he continue to lose vital matches and still be seen as competitive. But is the alternative better?
